HIGHLIGHTS

The village of Bunyola is located in the south of the Tramuntana mountains in the northwest of Mallorca and only about 15 minutes from Palma. The municipality has about 6000 inhabitants and is very popular with cyclists and hikers due to the surrounding mountains. If you don’t want to come by car, there is the possibility to take a wonderful trip with the nostalgic train “Roter Blitz” from Palma. The stop is directly in the village. The weekly market, which takes place twice a week (Wednesday and Saturday) on the market square, is particularly popular. There you can buy fresh fruit and vegetables, but also clothes and household goods. You can also find fresh produce at Agromart, a supermarket where only local farmers are supported. Visitors and locals like to meet in a relaxed atmosphere at Café Paris, right on the Sa Placa market square. In the main square near the town hall are Sa Plaça, Café Central and Ca s’Espardenyer with outdoor seating and extensive Mediterranean cuisine.

The mountain peaks of the Tramuntana, forests, imposing mansions, the church, charming guest houses and a lively market square characterise Bunyola. The nearby Jardins de Alfabia with its historic manor house are also particularly popular with visitors. The beautiful Alfabia gardens enchant with their many paths and water features and their peaceful atmosphere. The house itself presents Arabic, Gothic and even English styles, but also Renaissance and Baroque influences. Just 5 km from Bunyola is the Son Amar event finca. The dinner show offers modern entertainment with live music, acrobatics, impressive dance performances and other highlights.

LEISURE & SPORT

At the top of the list of leisure and sports activities in Bunyola is, of course, hiking. The Tramuntana Mountains, which have been declared a World Heritage Site by Unesco, offer a variety of hiking opportunities for all levels of difficulty and Bunyola is a perfect starting point for this. Cyclists also get their money’s worth in this area and can enjoy the wonderful landscape of the west coast. For golfers, the Golf de Son Termens is a real insider tip! Where else can you play golf at almost alpine altitudes? The Golf de Son Termens near Bunyola has existed since 1998 and nestles in the foothills of the mighty Tramuntana mountains. In addition to the golfers, the mountain goats are also welcome visitors to this golf course. A picturesque distant view all the way to the Bay of Palma is included!

LOCATION
