The most famous attraction just outside Esporles is the historic estate and museum “La Granja”, which is open to visitors and dates back to Roman times when it was prized for its natural water springs. “La Granja” is a beautiful 17th century estate surrounded by lush vegetation, beautiful gardens and natural springs, with a Mallorcan restaurant and terrace café where you will want to linger forever. “La Granja” is the ideal place for the whole family. Children can learn how traditional crafts used to be done and make friends with the farm animals.
Another highlight is the large Gothic church “Sant Pere”. In Sa Vileta, the oldest part of the village, the neo-Gothic church “Sant Pere” rises up, together with the rectory and an old watering place. Opposite the town hall, the sculpture La Filadora is a reminder of the local textile factories, now closed down, but which flourished until the mid-19th century. In the surrounding area, a path leads to the Sanctuary of Maristella, with beautiful views over the valley.
Every Saturday there is a weekly market, which has become very popular all over the island.
If you are looking for a nice country hotel in Esporles for you and your family, you should take a closer look at the “Loftotel Canet”. The LoftOtel Canet represents a new approach to local hospitality; an authentic and personal interpretation of what hospitality can express. A casual luxury without ostentation, splendour and pomp. Enjoy this unique combination of personality, modernity and authenticity - accompanied by typical Mediterranean hospitality. As a non-hotel guest, you can also enjoy a cosy lunch with friends there at the weekend, and for the children there is a playground with water games (only in summer), a labyrinth and a mini-golf course in addition to some animals.
Nature and hiking lovers get their full money’s worth in Esporles. Due to the direct proximity to the Tramuntana mountains, nature lovers can take interesting hikes in their free time on the well-signposted hiking trails of varying degrees of difficulty. In addition, bicycle tours, long walks and Nordic walking are also very popular with the residents of Esporles.
Esporles is only a few minutes by car from the coast, so you can quickly drive to the nearest beach. Whether swimming, sunbathing, diving or windsurfing, fine bathing beaches invite you to linger from April to October.
The fantastically beautiful village of Esporles is located in a valley on the south side of the Serra de Tramuntana about 20 minutes north of the capital Palma de Mallorca. A magnificent avenue of plane trees welcomes both residents and visitors to the picturesque village. The townscape of Esporles is characterised by the neo-Gothic church, which was built in honour of the holy patron saint of the textile industry, “Sant Crist de la Pois”. In addition, a small torrent flows through Esporles, dividing the village in two.
