Probably one of the most attractive features of Bendinat is that there are no tourist attractions. This fact creates a luxurious and private ambience, making it the ideal place to live for couples or families who want to escape the hustle and bustle of the lively city of Palma or the nearby resorts, but appreciate their convenient proximity with quick access to the motorway if needed. Well-known and popular hotels in this area include the Lindner Hotel right in the heart of Bendinat with its golf course and excellent spa and pool area, or the new 5* Iberostar Grand Portals Nous right on Bendinat beach. One of the best restaurants in Bendinat is Las Terrazas de Bendinat in the Hotel Bendinat directly on the coast. A beautiful terrace right on the Mediterranean with a perfect setting paired with excellent Mallorcan cuisine and very good service. Another popular restaurant is Es Romani in the Lindner Hotel, which offers a lively jazz brunch on Sundays, sushi on Thursdays and many other events. The pool bar restaurant offers a relaxed alternative to enjoy a tasty salad or fresh fish. In neighbouring Puerto Portals, however, the culinary selection is much richer. There, the quiet and romantic milieu is combined with luxury yachts and exclusive boutiques.
Bendinat is very well known for the exceptionally beautiful Real Golf de Bendinat course. The course offers 18 holes and is located right in the heart of the prestigious development with its luxury villas. Set in a picturesque wooded valley, the course has stunning views of the surrounding area, especially from hole 9. The clubhouse offers excellent facilities and also a good view of the 18th hole. Various chip and pitch areas and a putting green are available for practice throughout the golf course.
The infrastructure in and around Bendinat is excellent. Beaches, various shopping facilities and the international schools Agora Portals and Bellver College are in the immediate vicinity. In addition, the city centre of Palma is a ten-minute drive away. An architectural highlight of this Mallorcan urbanisation is the Bendinat Castle. This castle defends its reputation as one of the most imposing properties in Mallorca. Bendinat Castle was built between 1855 and 1867. The 3rd Marquis de la Romana, Pedro Caro, had it built in the Central European Gothic style. The 2,800-hectare estate has had various owners since then, which include Count Montenegro. You can still see the castle from a distance, but it remains a private property, so it cannot be visited. The 70-metre-long Playa de Bendinat coastline is ideal for swimming as well as canoeing. But the bathing bays of Illetas and Portals are also only a few minutes away by car. Bendinat has attracted a wealthy and international clientele for years. The large selection of excellent luxury villas means a very well functioning and stable property market and has been for many years. The “Old Bendinat” area, which is directly on the coast, is one of the most expensive areas on the whole island.
