Our favorite cove near Cala d’Or – Cala Sa Nau

Posted by Sandra on 2.09.2015

The Chiringuito in Cala Sa Nau on the coast of Felanitx, blends well into the natural idyll and is considered one of the most beautiful bays of the island. Cala Sa Nau is no longer an insider tip. But who was not there for a long time has to think about how to get there again, in this small cove in the municipality of Felanitx, 13 km from Portocolom. The entrance consists of a two-kilometer access road, which is so narrow that you have to fear for door and side mirrors constantly when oncoming traffic appears within sight. At the end of the driving there are still 64 stages that you have to climb down (then also back up) to enter sand. All that don’t disturbs the supporters of this bay, some of them come from a long distance. This is mainly due to the cool “Chiringuito” beach bar operatored by Marc Adrover.
Every weekend the beach turns into a party location with guest DJ’s and live bands all night long - because there is no neighbour around and the people can celebrate and dance as long as their want. The iconic bar and the furniture are made of wood and bamboo, in the trees hang colorful lanterns, massages are offered - pure Ibiza flair. Legendary is the party for the end of summer (in September). Until then Marc serves delicious dishes like tapas, meat and fish from the grill. Or try out one of the great cocktails from the menu! Cala Sa Nau is situated between Cala d’Or and Porto Colom. In S’Horta follow the signs. A few hundred meters off the beach there is a free car park.
