La Rosa Chica – a new hotspot in the Santa Catalina district

Posted by Sandra on 6.06.2017

For a long time the La Rosa Vermuteria at the Plaza Weyler in Palma is no longer an insider’s tip - at least not among the locals. The Vermuteria has become a Top place for Mallorquins and island insiders and THE place to start in Palma with a delicious vermouth and tapas in the evening. It is not surprising that after just 2 years the owner Nacho Velasco has opened his second restaurant, La Rosa Chica, in April 2017.
Located on the lively Monseñor Palmer street in the immediate vicinity of the Paseo Maritimo, the La Rosa Chica Vermutería now offers the same things as the Placa Weyler to vermouth and tapas fans. At first sight, you are not sure if the location of the new scene location, right at a busy crossroads is so well chosen. But the success speaks for itself: the already very popular & trendy Santa Catalina quarter has one attraction more and is giving the corner on the edge of the neighborhood and near the Palma Tennis Club, a new boom. In addition to the evenings, the “Chica” also at lunch time is very busy. Especially the Locals sit here and enjoy the lunch in the sun.
The style is very similar to La Rosa Vermutería, the space is only a bit smaller, but there is a terrace with chic high tables and chairs. An advantage regards to the location at Plaza Weyler, there is no outside area. The exquisite retro charm is a delight for all visitors: white tiled walls behind the bar, dried peppers, garlic, ham and Ramallet tomatoes hanging from the ceiling, stylish martini advertising board and the famous fish preserves with sardines & Co. For us one of the new hotspots in Palma.
