Flight already booked? Mallorca is about to open

Posted by Sandra on 27.05.2020

Spain was, together with Italy, one of the countries worst affected by the novel coronavirus Covid-19. For this reason, the measures of the complete lockdown since mid-March were probably necessary for the most part to prevent further spread. The airports of the Balearic Islands will be able to receive international tourists again in the coming weeks, as soon as the de-escalation plan of the Spanish government comes to an end. This news is a great relief for the island’s businesses and hoteliers, who are struggling to cope without the increase in tourism that is usual for this time of year. Now there is renewed hope for many that the summer season in Mallorca can be saved after all. A quick solution is also being worked on for second home owners so that they can travel back to their holiday homes. On 25th May the Foreign Minister Arancha Gonzalez Laya announced that “the worst is behind us” and that international tourists will be arriving in Spain again in July. “We look forward to welcoming you”, she added. Even in July, certain regulations will still be in place to ensure the highest safety standards. But there will not be such strict measures as the quarantine then. Several of our customers have already booked their flights for July and we are working flat out to organise all the tours. We are looking forward to YOU!
