The beach of Portals Nous in the southwest of Mallorca

Posted by Sandra on 3.07.2015

Mallorca’s beautiful sandy beaches and picturesque bays with crystal clear water, make the Balearic Island to one of the most popular destinations. Over 120 Mallorca beaches and coves are located along the coast. Here you find dreamlike white sandy beaches with turquoise waters, or hidden small bays which are lined with Palm trees, as well as wild natural beaches.

The beach of Portals Nous is beautifully situated next to the marina. Opposite the beach is a small island. The approximately 100 m long and 20 m wide beach has fine sand and has a shallow entry, ideal for families with children. On the beach various water sports activities are offered such as jet skiing, kayaking and pedal boating. For the small or large hunger, there is a tiny beach bar. For those who prefer “ski hut feeling” directly at the beach, the rustic feeling can be enjoyed from the Beach Alm. Here you get everything your heart desires - Wienerschnitzel, Swiss sausage salad, dumplings or pancakes. But of course there are also lighter, Mediterranean dishes on the daily menu.

Above the beach, via a steep staircase from the bottom, there is the chic restaurant Lila opened in May 2014. It has long been part of the favorite spot of mainly German guests. From the beach restaurant you can overlook the bay and the port of Portals Nous. Especially in the evenings it offers spectacular views at sunset. Another favorite of many is the Roxy Beach Bar. Built directly into the sea  this chiringuito (beach bar) in “Ibiza Style” offers a wonderful sea view. The perfect place to enjoy a sundowner with chill out music. Since its opening, the Roxy Beach Bar in Puerto Portals, below the church of Portals Nous, has become the trendy hot spot with an international audience.
