Kuroböta – Asian Bistro cuisine and cocktails NEW in Palma

Posted by Sandra on 26.09.2016

Kuroböta? Don’t even try to remember this creative name again. You’d better go and try the fantastic Asian tapas and creative cocktails. Still, it’s a hidden gem in Palma, the new restaurant at Plaça de Progress 9 in the Santa Catalina district. The owner Luke Perry purely invented this extraordinary name. Inside the restaurant, visitors can expect an extremely welcoming atmosphere in the style of an Asian tavern. Lots of wood and a long bar, simple tables and chairs and a cozy lighting convince in Kuroböta, which is open only in the evenings from 19.30 hrs onwards.
The Englishman Perry, who also operates the nearby restaurant “Koh” in Calle Servet, offers tapas in Japanese and Korean style. These includes for example a ginger marinated tuna, marinated salmon, smoked pork ribs, wonton dumplings with crab, Iberian pork with coriander or Beef Ramen soup. You get four different beers fresh from the tap and the bartender says of himself that he mixes the city’s best cocktails here. Some classics like Singapore Sling or Cosmopolitan are served in new variations, with ice that is freshly cut off from large blocks of ice - that’s very special!
Although the restaurant is new on Mallorca’s gastronomic heaven and yet not so many people know about it, the place is quite fully booked every evening. A reservation is advisable. Except Mondays, the Kuroböta opens every night.
