Cala Mayor is a very lively place with many restaurants and boutiques and is also very famous for its nightlife. The bay of Cala Mayor connects to the port of Porto Pi in Palma. The highlight of Cala Mayor is the fine sandy beach of the same name, about 1 km long, which is very popular with families. The water is crystal clear. Above the bay of Cala Mayor the famous painter Joan Miró had his studio. Today the Miró museum is located there. Due to the year-round proximity to Palma, this place is a very interesting vacation destination.
