Explore the island on the water

Enjoy a relaxing day on a boat or catamaran and explore the island in a different way. You can escape the heat on land, always have a gentle breeze around your nose, the cool water just a jump away and of course avoid the crowds of people on the beach. With more than 500 km of coastline, Mallorca offers a wide variety of excursions to explore the island’s beauty, coves with crystal clear waters and beautiful sandy beaches.

The options for discovering Mallorca’s coastline by boat are very varied. From the large excursion boats, such as the popular glass-bottom boats, to private sailing trips or yacht charters, to sightseeing by motorboat or catamaran - there is something for every travel budget.

Renting a boat without a licence is also possible in many places on holiday in Mallorca. These are watercraft that have up to 15 hp. With these boats you can go on nice little excursions. The boat hire staff know the best destinations in the vicinity so that you are safe and don’t go too far out to sea.

Boat tours for every budget

Very popular, for example, are the traditional tours in a real Mallorcan Llaüt - a wooden, original fishing boat that can be hired in the port of Portocolom. From Portocolom, the most beautiful areas of Mallorca are visited, for example the unspoilt east coast - it is always a highlight to be able to experience this from the sea.

Or how about a boat trip starting in Puerto de Soller to Sa Calobra. In Sa Calobra you can also swim in crystal-clear water and hike a little way into the gorge of the impressive Torrent de Pareis.

Another tip would be a tour from Port d’Alcudia by boat to Coll Baix. Baix is known to be a breathtakingly beautiful and secluded cala. The bay is difficult to reach on foot. Here you can swim to your heart’s content in the crystal clear water and observe the interesting underwater world.

On a boat trip to the northern part of the island, for example, this tour to the peninsula of Formentor is offered. The excursion is one of the most beautiful water routes on Mallorca. It goes along the sublime and rugged north coast with its very special charm. Here, in the high season, you can see the many tourists at the viewpoint of the Cap Formentor lighthouse.

Sailors and rowers then like to choose the alternative of marvelling at the magical and impressive cliffs of the peninsula rather from the water. If you like, you can stop off here and take an extensive walk on the beautiful beach. It used to be the hotel’s private beach, but is now open to the public.
