Deia International Music Festival

The 2025 Deià International Music Festival once again invites classical music lovers to immerse themselves in a transcendent summer of concerts set within Mallorca’s most breathtaking landscapes. As it stretches from June through September, the Festival blends centuries of musical tradition with daring contemporary voices—all framed by the dramatic Tramuntana Mountains and the azure Mediterranean.

A Festival Born of Passion and Place

Established in 1978 by musician Patrick Meadows, the Festival originated from humble beginnings—a modest “paramusical workshop” in Deià’s village church. Over nearly fifty years, it has evolved into a benchmark of European classical music, celebrated for its “collaboration of international artists and the undeniable quality of its music programmes”. Today, under the artistic direction of Alfredo Oyáguez Montero (since 2000), the Festival continues to champion both classical tradition and innovation.

Practical Tips

  • Tickets: €30 per concert; highly recommended to book early, particularly for peak dates in July and August, as events often sell out.
  • Travel: Deià is ~45 min from Palma by scenic mountain roads; Valldemossa is ~30 min away. Car rental is ideal; parking is easier in Valldemossa. If staying in Valldemossa, concerts in Deià are easily accessible.
  • Best for: Teens and adults; early evening performances are ideal for families, though toddler‑length concerts may prove longer than ideal .

The Deià International Music Festival 2025 promises a sensory journey: from thunderous Beethoven in a cliffside palace to delicate nocturnes under olive trees, and flamenco‑infused crossovers from the stage in Palma. Whether you’re drawn by its majestic settings, its commitment to musical diversity, or the promise of sunset harmonies, this Festival will be a highlight of the Mallorcan summer.

Plan ahead, book early, and let your soul be carried by the music and the Mediterranean breeze.
